At Emerald City Wellness we believe that health is not just the absence of illness, but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. We strive to promote holistic health and wellness at our mental health clinic using evidenced-based treatment principles of psychiatry. We believe that mental health is a continuous journey, not a destination, and that healing happens in layers over time. Recovery means showing yourself compassion, embracing progress over perfection, and allowing space for rest and growth. We trust that small, consistent steps can lead to lasting changes in your mental health.

We maintain our expertise through ongoing continuing education and training, staying current with the latest evidence-based practices to provide safe, effective, and high-quality psychiatric care. When needed, we collaborate with experts in the field to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care for every patient.

Discover the Heart Behind Our Mission
At the core of everything we do is a simple but powerful belief: healing begins with compassion. Our practice was built on a commitment to support people through some of the most challenging times in their lives, with care that is respectful, individualized, and deeply rooted in trust.
Our psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) bring a unique perspective to treatment. They combine medical expertise with a nursing approach that focuses on the whole person - mind, body, and lifestyle.
Mental health is never one-size-fits-all. That’s why our PMHNPs take time to understand each person’s symptoms, experiences, and goals. From the first visit, treatment is collaborative. We listen, ask thoughtful questions, and work with you to create a treatment plan that feels both manageable and meaningful.
Treatment options include:
For individuals living with ADHD, Anxiety, and Depression, treatment can feel overwhelming. Our goal is to help make this less so. With the right support, stability is possible. PMHNPs are trained to manage complex psychiatric medications, monitor progress over time, and adjust treatment as your needs evolve.
Every milestone matters to us - whether it’s someone finding the right medication, getting through a tough week, or finally feeling heard after years of struggling. These moments are why we do this work.
We’re honored to walk alongside our clients as they grow, heal, and reclaim their lives. If you’re considering reaching out for support, we hope you’ll feel encouraged to take that first step. You don’t have to go through it alone - and you don’t have to settle for care that doesn’t feel right.
We’re here. And we’re ready when you are.

LuAnn Grochowski, PMHNP-BC, brings more than 23 years of experience as a registered nurse and psychiatric nurse practitioner. She has cared for patients in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, addressing a wide variety of emotional and psychiatric conditions. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based care, individualized treatment, and helping patients take an active role in their recovery.
We provide support for individuals facing mental health challenges including ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, mood, and thought disorders. Whether you’re feeling constantly overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of intrusive thoughts, riding emotional highs and lows, or struggling with focus and motivation, we’re here to help. These issues often impact relationships, work, sleep, and sense of self—but with the right support, change is absolutely possible. We offer individualized care, including medication management and practical strategies, to help you feel more balanced, grounded, and empowered in your everyday life.

We perform comprehensive, evidenced-based diagnostic evaluations to help determine the appropriate treatment plan and intervention.

We provide medication management and focus on building relationships with our patients to provide individualized treatment plans. Medications are thoughtfully and carefully prescribed.

Emerald City Wellness takes a holistic approach to mental health care, blending supportive talk therapy, medication, and lifestyle changes to support whole-person healing.

We believe that prevention is key to maintaining good health and take a proactive, evidence-based approach to mental health care, focusing on early intervention, monitoring progress, and adjusting treatment to support long-term stability and well-being.

We offer virtual/video visits for your convenience. You can connect with our healthcare providers from the comfort of your own home or office, from any city, town, or county in North Carolina and New York. This modality offers a more relaxed and improved experience.

We offer GeneSight® testing to help personalize your psychiatric medication treatment. This simple genetic test analyzes how your genes may affect your response to certain medications commonly used to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. The results can help guide medication choices, reduce trial-and-error, and support more effective, individualized care.

Emerald City Wellness offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for mental health conditions. We treat and help manage ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, mood disorders, and other related illness. We work to understand the factors driving your symptoms, address them thoughtfully, and help you achieve a stable, balanced, and sustained recovery.
Your initial visit will be a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. You’ll be invited to take the lead and share what has brought you to seek treatment. This includes a discussion of current symptoms and any past treatment, as well as time spent getting to know you more fully - your relationships, family and social life, personal identity, and other experiences that have shaped who you are.
Additional things to consider:
• The evaluation process may take more than one visit to complete.
• Medication may not be prescribed at the first appointment.
• The initial consultation does not guarantee ongoing treatment. Depending on your individual needs, a referral to another provider may be recommended.
Medication management is guided by safety, effectiveness, and clinical appropriateness. The goal is to use the lowest effective dose of medication while supporting your treatment goals. Medications are adjusted thoughtfully and gradually to allow time to assess benefit and monitor for side effects.
High-dose prescribing or medication use outside of FDA-recommended guidelines is not routinely practiced, and medications are not prescribed when they are not clinically indicated.
